{"id":243199,"date":"2026-04-10T06:11:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T06:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/243199\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T06:11:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T06:11:07","slug":"lawyers-pack-viral-texas-judge-nathan-millirons-courtroom-in-show-of-solidarity-for-attorney-he-ordered-to-appear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/243199\/","title":{"rendered":"Lawyers pack viral Texas judge Nathan Milliron&#8217;s courtroom in show of solidarity for attorney he ordered to appear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas attorney who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/31\/us-news\/texas-judge-nathan-milliron-caught-on-camera-berating-it-worker-after-helping-him-with-computer-glitch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">called out the viral judge caught on tape tearing into an IT worker<\/a>\u00a0and demanding he apologize for his behavior, was a no-show in court after being ordered to appear before the magistrate.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney James Stafford did not appear before Harris County Judge Nathan Milliron on Thursday, but instead about a dozen lawyers from the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association packed the courtroom in a show of solidarity for their colleague, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/politics\/houston\/article\/judge-milliron-court-order-lawyer-22194132.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the Houston Chronicle reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Milliron accused Stafford of \u201cex parte\u201d communication \u2014 contacting a judge in a legal proceeding without the other parties\u2019 knowledge \u2014 after <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/01\/us-news\/texas-judge-nathan-milliron-orders-attorney-to-appear-in-court-after-criticizing-him-for-berating-it-worker-in-viral-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the longtime attorney demanded he apologize for berating an IT worker<\/a> who came to help him with a computer issue.<\/p>\n<p>About a dozen lawyers showed up to Harris County Civil Court Judge Nathan Milliron\u2019s courtroom on Thursday after he ordered attorney James Stafford to appear before him for calling out the judge\u2019s behavior. Milliron<\/p>\n<p>Stafford, who had never appeared before the judge in any legal proceedings before the incident, rebutted the claim and ignored the order because no legitimate court order had ever been issued to him.<\/p>\n<p>Brent Mayr, head of the association and a vocal supporter of Stafford, said he and the other attorneys waited nearly an hour and a half for Milliron\u2019s bailiff to call for their colleague.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Milliron proceeded with the morning\u2019s scheduled docket and never called for Stafford to appear before him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe judge is not taking any further illegal action,\u201d Mayr told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Mayr and other association members have not filed a complaint with the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, despite concerns over Milliron\u2019s treatment of Stafford.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyers came to court on Thursday to show their solidarity with their colleague. KPRC 2<\/p>\n<p>While the beef between Stafford and Milliron appears to have fizzled out, defense attorney Wade Smith, who was among the attorneys present Thursday, said the judge\u2019s behavior during court proceedings was \u201cvery pleasant\u201d \u2014 but suspects it may have been influenced by the recent criticism Milliron has received.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat doesn\u2019t surprise me when he\u2019s got a lot of eyeballs on him,\u201d Smith told the outlet outside Milliron\u2019s courtroom.<\/p>\n<p>Milliron landed in hot water earlier this year after a viral video showed him losing his cool on an IT staffer who was trying to help him fix an audio problem in his courtroom.<\/p>\n<p>A viral video shows Harris County Judge Nathan Milliron losing his cool with the IT worker in a tense exchange over what appeared to be an audio problem. X\/@FightWithMemes<\/p>\n<p>As the first video went viral, a second clip emerged <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/01\/us-news\/texas-judge-nathan-milliron-orders-attorney-to-appear-in-court-after-criticizing-him-for-berating-it-worker-in-viral-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">showing Milliron losing his temper with a defense attorney mid-hearing <\/a>in another tense courtroom exchange where he instructed his deputy to remove her from the courtroom and threatened to have her \u201ccuffed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/02\/us-news\/texas-judge-nathan-milliron-demanded-respect-as-duly-elected-judge-in-explosive-emails-before-viral-courtroom-meltdowns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">series of emails also emerged showing Milliron demanding respect as a \u201cduly elected judge\u201d<\/a> and ordering a staff member he referred to as a \u201csubordinate\u201d to do their job.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the mountain of backlash, Milliron has never publicly commented on his behavior, and has since deactivated his Facebook account, which he previously used to livestream court proceedings, the Houston Chronicle reported.<\/p>\n<p>Milliron has served on the bench in the 215th District Court since January 2025.
