MORGANTOWN, W. Va. \u2014 The #36 University of Houston Tennis team opens its final weekend of regular season action against West Virginia on Friday and Cincinnati on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Cougars face West Virginia at 4 p.m. CT Friday at the Mountaineers Tennis Courts before wrapping the regular season against Cincinnati at 11 a.m. CT Sunday at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.<\/p>\n

\nThe Cougars won a pair of matches, defeating #31 Oklahoma State by forfeit on Friday and a 4-1 win over Kansas State on Sunday.

\nThe Cougars won a hard fought doubles point as doubles pairs Elizaveta Morozova<\/a> and Petja Drame<\/a>, and Iva Sepa<\/a> and Valeriia Krokhotina<\/a> secured the victories.
\n\u00a0
\nKrokhotina, Drame and Sophie Schouten<\/a> each claimed doubles points for the Cougars in the victory over the Wildcats.

\nABOUT HOUSTON
\nHouston is in its second season under the direction of Head Coach Katarina Adamovic<\/a> and returns five starters from a season ago.

\nThe Cougars got off to their best start since 1990 at 11-0, swept its first eight opponents for the first time in program history and were ranked as high as #29 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team poll.

\nHouston is ranked #36 in this week’s ITA team poll while coming in at #42 in the UTR team rankings.

\nSchouten leads the Cougars with a 14-1 singles record on court six. Krokhotina holds double fingers singles wins with 13 including a current six match win streak.

\nSenior duo Zeghlouli and Schouten own a 12-4 doubles record on court one to go along with a 11-4 record from Drame and Morozova on court three.

\nABOUT WEST VIRGINIA
\nWest Virginia enters the weekend with a 7-11 record including a 1-10 ledger in conference play. The Mountaineers lone conference win of the season came against Cincinnati (March 28).

\nJulie Bousseau and Audrey Moutama lead the Mountaineers with seven singles wins while Laura Villanueva Morillo and Lucia Tognoni pace West Virginia with six doubles wins including a 4-0 record on court three.

\nCincinnati starts the final weekend with a 7-12 overall record with their lone conference victory coming against Kansas State to open its conference slate (Feb. 27).
