As fans speculate and the Wings front office works behind the scenes, updated mock drafts have only fueled conversations about who could team up with Bueckers in Dallas.

Here’s who some of the latest mock drafts have going No. 1 on April 13.

UConn’s Azzi Fudd topped Michael Voepel’s ESPN mock draft board up until Wednesday morning, when TCU’s Olivia Miles replaced her at No. 1.

Miles, who transferred to TCU from Notre Dame for her final season, averaged 19 points, 9.8 rebounds and 9.0 assists in the NCAA tournament. The Horned Frogs, who went 32–6 and won the Big 12 regular-season title, lost to South Carolina in the Elite Eight. The 5-10 guard averaged a career-high 19.6 points and had six triple-doubles this season.

ESPN had Fudd at No. 1 in its two previous mock drafts, but seemed to factor her postseason performance into her new placement. Fudd scored a career-high 34 points with eight 3-point shots in the second round, but she was 12-of-39 shooting for 31 points in UConn’s last three tournament games. In UConn’s loss to South Carolina in the national semifinal, Fudd was 3-of-15 for eight points.

Fudd tops USA Today’s latest mock draft by Cory Woodroof. Citing the Bueckers-Fudd UConn connection, Woodroof said Fudd makes the most sense if the Wings want a title window to open while Bueckers is still on her rookie deal and if Dallas loses veteran Arike Ogunbowale in free agency.

In her final season at UConn, where she won a national championship with Bueckers in 2025, Fudd averaged 17.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists. She shot 48.1 % from the floor, helping UConn to a 38-1 record and to the national semifinals.

Spanish center Awa Fam is the projected No. 1 pick in Jack Maloney’s latest mock draft for CBS Sports. Maloney cited the 19-year-old’s strong showing against Team USA during the FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in March.

Fam also tops Hunter Cruse’s Bleacher Report mock draft, where she has been the projected No. 1 throughout the entire draft process. Cruse said Fam has the highest upside in this year’s class and cited her 21 points against France at EuroBasket last summer and 10 points in 19 minutes against Team USA during the FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in March.

Sabreena Merchant’s latest mock draft, released March 20, had Fam going No. 1 over Fudd, Miles and UCLA’s Lauren Betts, who won a national championship with the Bruins on Sunday.

Leading up to the 2025 WNBA draft, there was no question the Dallas Wings would take Paige Bueckers…

[9
102,104,103
0":"post-243479","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-dallas","8":"tag-dallas","9":"tag-dallas-headlines","10":"tag-dallas-news
["GET
