The Texas Rangers debuted a new City Connect uniform on Thursday. <\/p>\n
The new jerseys reimagine the elements of past Rangers looks while celebrating the Mexican influences that help define the state\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year\u2019s City Connect uniform reflects the strong Hispanic influences that have shaped Texas, with special tributes to Mexican heritage and Rangers history,\u201d said Texas Rangers Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer Jim Cochrane. \u201cOur marketing team worked closely with Nike to translate those stories into a design that feels authentic to our club and the connection we share with our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tejas<\/p>\n
In a letter style inspired by the team’s 1980s uniforms, the Spanish word for Texas stretches across the front of the jersey. The word is also rooted in the Caddo language, meaning \u201cfriend,\u201d a reminder that Texans are united and baseball welcomes everyone. <\/p>\n
Cochineal red<\/p>\n
The distinct red color draws from the sacred crimson dye derived from the cochineal insect, and is both historically and symbolically significant in Mexican culture.<\/p>\n
The Rangers have not worn a red jersey since 2022, but the color was a staple in the uniform rotation in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
Block T <\/p>\n
The classic block T dates back to the team\u2019s origin in 1972. Reimagined, the raised weave of the logo on the cap honors the craftsmanship of Mexican artistry. <\/p>\n
Papel Picado<\/p>\n
A papel picado with the state\u2019s shape is prominently displayed on the jersey\u2019s sleeve \u2014 an homage to the traditional Mexican folk art of cutting designs into tissue paper for celebrations. <\/p>\n
Charro patterns<\/p>\n
Mariachi de Los Texas Rangers has become a tradition at the home games. To pay homage to the charros’ trajes, the interlocking T trim-and-fill patterns draw inspiration from their embroidery.<\/p>\n

A rallying cry grounded in Texas pride and the name of the team\u2019s post-game celebrations. <\/p>\n
Leather belt<\/p>\n
A nod to vaquero style, the charro pattern is debossed on the uniform’s belt.<\/p>\n
The Rangers will debut the uniforms on Friday, April 24, when they host the Athletics at Globe Life Field. The team will wear the uniforms on every Friday home game during the 2026 season. <\/p>\n
