The Rock Hill Blue Hawks<\/a> will head out to face off against the Plano Wildcats<\/a> at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.<\/p>\n

If Plano heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that’s when Rock Hill took over last week. The Blue Hawks enjoyed a cozy 24-7 victory over Plano East two weeks ago. Given the Blue Hawks’ advantage in MaxPreps’ Texas football rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Panthers are ranked 251st) , the result wasn’t entirely unexpected.<\/p>\n

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Courtney Lawson<\/a>, who picked up 113 receiving yards and one touchdown. Nate Vincent<\/a> was another key player, having thrown for 255 yards and onetouchdown.<\/p>\n

Rock Hill’s run defense was locked in: Plano East could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Riley Hinds<\/a> stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made nine total tackles. Sadly, that’s becoming something of a trend for Rock Hill; they were averaging 5.2yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they’ve fallen to only 2.8 per game.<\/p>\n

Rock Hill didn’t go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Harrison Johnson<\/a> and Donyae Williams<\/a>. Williams also made four total tackles, which is notable because Rock Hill is 3-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plano faced off against Plano East on Thursday. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 17-15. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.<\/p>\n

Rock Hill better keep an eye on Chance Culley<\/a>. He was instrumental in Plano’s win, rushing for 199 yards and one TD while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. That’s the most rushing yards Culley has posted since back in August.<\/p>\n

Plano’s record now sits at 6-3. As for Rock Hill, they now have a winning record of 4-3.<\/p>\n

Rock Hill skirted past Plano 24-21 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Culley, who rushed for 88 yards and a pair of scores.
