SAN ANTONIO – A driver experiencing a mental health episode crashed into a concrete median along U.S. Highway 90 West and was taken to a hospital Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were dispatched at about 6:16 a.m. on 04\/10\/2026 to the 9100 block of U.S. Highway 90 W EB for a major accident involving one vehicle that hit a concrete median.<\/p>\n
Police said multiple people passing by saw the driver near the vehicle’s tires after the crash. It was not known how the driver exited the vehicle at that time.<\/p>\n
SAPD said the driver, described as a male, was evading officers on a busy highway and was uncooperative in walking back to the vehicle. Police said he was assisted as a safety precaution for both the driver and officers involved.<\/p>\n
The driver was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. No major injuries were reported at the scene, police said.<\/p>\n
