\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTicketing enhancements in Terminal D and Terminal F and Skylink Station<\/a> work on Terminal F, were among the items approved at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport board meeting<\/a> April 2.<\/p>\n

Terminal F construction<\/p>\n

Next+, the construction company working on new Terminal F, worked with the airport staff for a revised execution plan for the change of gate capacity from 15 to 31, part of a $4 billion project, according to previous reporting<\/a>. That new approach will still enable Terminal F to have 10 gates open in May 2027, with an additional five gates by the end of the year. A phased approach will happen for the remaining 16 gates, according to board documents.<\/p>\n

The other part of the work is the design of the Skylink structural column modifications to advance, supporting early construction and program alignment. The cost of the revisions is for design, code and construction to not exceed $300 million.<\/p>\n

The Terminal F work is part of the DFW Forward<\/a>, a $9 billion capital improvement plan.<\/p>\n

Terminal D ticket enhancements<\/p>\n

Terminal D, used for international flights, will see ticket enhancements, part of a $470,378 contract with Swinerton Builders of Dallas.<\/p>\n

Board documents stated that international travel continues to grow and that upgrades are needed to the check-in and security screening areas. Temporary ticket counters will be installed during the construction of new self-service bag drop units and self-service check-in kiosks. The temporary counter will move customers’ bags from the counter to the conveyor drop-off. That will lead to the temporary relocation of the baggage screening machines on the arrival level and the demolition of a concession space to accommodate the machines, according to board documents.<\/p>\n

Terminals C and F artwork<\/p>\n

Artwork contracts were approved for Terminals C and F.<\/p>\n

Cirrus Collaborative LLC of Fort Worth will create a sculpture installation inspired by the Trinity River\u2019s path through Fort Worth, but also mirror the airport as a point of convergence, where journeys begin and return, according to board documents.<\/p>\n

It will be installed in the Terminal C baggage claim area, one of three new rotational art exhibits dedicated to local and regional artists. The contract is for an amount not to exceed $200,000 with a start date of April.<\/p>\n

Cirrus Collaborative was started in 2025 by artist Martha Peters<\/a>, whose work was displayed at DFW Airport in 2010 and 2015, according to her website.<\/p>\n

Masako Miki<\/a>, of Berkeley, California, was awarded a contract for artwork in Terminal F. It will be a large-scale sculpture that will be a focal centerpiece of the Terminal F central atrium area when it opens. The contract for Miki is for an amount not to exceed $2.6 million.<\/p>\n

According to her website, Miki has various art pieces installed at the Uber headquarters in San Francisco and at Oh Bay Coastal Cultural Park in Shenzhen, China.<\/p>\n

Terminal D Federal Inspection Service facility<\/p>\n

The board approved a reimbursement agreement with Customs and Border Protection for costs related to equipment and installation required for the Federal Inspection Service facility inside Terminal D.<\/p>\n
