At the event, victims of child abuse in the Lubbock community were honored.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The goal is to help raise awareness and promote education about child abuse in the South Plains.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to Covenant Health, there were 2,295 counts of child abuse or neglect in Lubbock County last year. Out of those, 758 were confirmed victims.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In 2025, there were three deaths related to child abuse in the Lubbock region, according to the hospital, with two of those being kids under the age of five in Lubbock County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Neglectful Supervision passed physical abuse and sexual abuse as the most reported type of abuse in the county.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For more information, click here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCBD.
