\nInstalling new Sidewalk and ADA Compliant ramps along both sides of Allen Avenue
\nBridge Rail Modifications and Culvert Crossings
\nStorm Drainage Improvements
\nNew traffic signs, pavement markings and streetlights

This project is part of the City\u2019s efforts to improve accessibility in Arlington for residents and visitors.<\/p>\n
The construction contract for Allen Avenue Sidewalk Project (East Arbrook Boulevard to East Mayfield Road) consists of installing new sidewalk on both sides of Allen Avenue in addition to filling in sidewalk gaps along Allen Avenue. Funding for this project was included in the voter-approved 2018 Bond Program in addition to the federal funds provided by the Texas Department of Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program. This project aligns with the Council priority to Enhance Mobility.<\/p>\n
Residents interested in learning more about this project are invited to participate in a public meeting on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the East Library and Recreation Center, 1817 New York Avenue, Arlington, Texas 76010. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During Fiscal Year 2025, Arlington invested approximately $1.4 million on sidewalk improvements under the Capital Improvements Program, which includes sidewalks, ADA compliant curb ramps and pavements markings.<\/p>\n
