EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 The National Weather Service<\/a> issued a blowing dust advisory in El Paso until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10.<\/p>\n

NWS is forecasting wind speeds, blowing south, of 17 mph with gusts reaching nearly 30 mph. The weather agency reported that a haboob approached their office in Santa Teresa, New Mexico just before 5 p.m. \u201cIt should move across the El Paso area between 5 to 5:15 with winds of 30 to 40 mph and visibilities of less than a mile possible,\u201d meteorologists posted on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Showers are hitting neighborhoods in East El Paso, and many roadways appear slick. Residents in West El Paso shares photos of a large dust storm looming near the intersection of South Desert and Transmountain.<\/p>\n

KTSM 9 viewer Xochitl Nanetti took a photo showing the rain in El Paso Lower Valley. She described the weather in her neighborhood writing, \u201cDeep water and air bubbles forming on the roads in Lower Valley at 5:15 pm. Ground is saturated and visibility is low.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NWS is forecasting 50 percent of showers before 11 p.m. Friday, along with patchy blowing dust before 9 p.m.<\/p>\n
