Residents should note that Fort Worth’s Dream Park will be closed April 13-May 6 for its annual maintenance project. Crews will spend the coming weeks on deep cleaning and repairs.<\/p>\n
The city discussed the closure in a Friday blog post<\/a>. According to the post, Frank Kent’s Dream Park has “exceeded all expectations in both use and popularity” since its April 2019 opening.<\/p>\n The 57,000 square-foot playground<\/a> located in Trinity Park features poured-in-place rubber surfacing for wheelchairs, adaptive swings for toddlers and children with low muscle tone, a stainless-steel roller slide that won’t impact hearing devices, and other interactive elements.<\/p>\n Of course, with love and attention comes wear and tear. “To protect this major community investment,” the post states, “Park & Recreation schedules a yearly closure to complete work that cannot be done while the playground is open.”<\/p>\n This timeframe aligns with typical Mayfest setup<\/a> at Trinity Park, which should minimize the disruption for families while offering the best chance for favorable weather needed for the repairs.<\/p>\n During the temporary closure, the city encourages residents to visit Trinity Park’s other playground near the duck pond. Trinity Park is also home to a basketball court, an observation deck, a stand alone swing, and a water feature.<\/p>\n The city also offers two other all-inclusive playgrounds:<\/p>\n Patricia LeBlanc Park<\/a>, 6300 Granbury Cut-Off St., in southwest Fort Worth North Park<\/a>, 9000 N. Beach St., in north Fort Worth<\/p>\n
