Specifically, she tells Flow Space, she\u2019s pivoted to focusing more on the \u201cbookends\u201d of her routine.<\/p>\n<p>That means \u201cthe warm-up, the nourishing, making sure I have enough calories in my body that can be burned,\u201d King explains. \u201cMaking sure that I\u2019ve activated the muscle groups in every range of motion before I hit that high intensity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theflowspace.com\/t\/workout\/\" id=\"auto-tag_workout\" data-tag=\"workout\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">workout<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theflowspace.com\/physical-health\/prevention-longevity\/bone-joint-health-tips-women-midlife-3023793\/\" title=\"\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-card-index=\"0\" data-post-id=\"3023793\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2190228636.jpg\" alt=\"Things Midlife Women Should Do for Joint and Bone Health, According to Orthopedic Surgeons\" height=\"225\" width=\"300\"   loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-attachment-id=\"3023794\" data-wp-size=\"nova_size__fourbythree_small_cropped\"\/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>She also prioritizes recovery, and not just with a five- or 10-minute post-workout stretch. \u201cIt\u2019s about unraveling some of the tension and intensity of the day,\u201d King says. That means intentional slow breathing, a hot bath, staying hydrated, and eating balanced meals. \u201cIf I do those things, I feel grounded. I feel restored the following day, and then ready to rinse and repeat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>King\u2019s daily routine looks different than it did a few years ago. She turned 40 last year and is busy at home raising two toddlers. In the midst of this season, she\u2019s also still trying to prioritize her own health and happiness, which includes staying strong. As an expert in this field, King share that for midlife women, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theflowspace.com\/video\/weekly-workout-split-midlife-women-peloton-rebecca-kennedy-3026167\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">building strength<\/a> comes down to three core tips.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst and foremost, regulate your nervous system,\u201d King says. One simple way to do that: \u201csimply by breathing,\u201d she explains. \u201cTaking those deep, diaphragmatic breaths. Inhale and exhale completely\u2026 Breathe deeply, breathe intentionally, and do it as often as you can remember.\u201d She shares that those deep breaths offer the additional benefit of massaging one of the main lymph glands in your body, which sits in the center of your diaphragm.<\/p>\n<p>King is also committed to taking a daily probiotic. \u201cIt\u2019s so easy, it\u2019s so simple, and the impact of it is massive,\u201d says King, who is chief wellness ambassador for the probiotic brand <a href=\"https:\/\/culturelle.com\/pages\/cwa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Culturelle<\/a>. \u201cTaking care of your second brain \u2014 your microbiome \u2014 is going to influence your digestion, your mood swings, your skin, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theflowspace.com\/mental-health\/anxiety-depression\/gut-microbiome-depression-2938776\/\">your brain health<\/a>, your gut health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finally, King says, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theflowspace.com\/physical-health\/prevention-longevity\/consistency-workouts-3025313\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">being consistent is crucial<\/a> and, for her, even more important than lifting heavy weights or doing high-intensity workouts.
