SAN ANTONIO – A fatal shooting at a West Side apartment complex lands an 18-year-old behind bars on a capital murder charge.<\/p>\n

Police arrested Davonta Dantrell Love Jones on Wednesday in connection with the March 11 shooting death of 19-year-old Devin Raul Farias at the Villas on Springvale apartments off U.S. Highway 90 West near Springvale Drive. <\/p>\n

According to investigators, Farias had been communicating with one of the suspects by phone before the shooting and allowed him inside the apartment. That suspect then asked if two others could come in, and Farias agreed.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told police that once inside, all three suspects pulled out guns. One witness said Jones was holding two firearms and stood near the front door while another suspect assaulted and robbed Farias. The suspects also held two witnesses at gunpoint during the incident, according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n

After the suspects left the apartment, police say Farias followed them outside, where all three suspects opened fire, shooting him one after another.<\/p>\n

Two witnesses later identified Jones in separate photo lineups as one of the gunmen and the person who pointed weapons at them during the robbery.<\/p>\n

Investigators also said the suspect who initially contacted Farias later told his mother to warn Jones to leave the apartment, delete his Instagram activity, and \u201cget as far away as he can.\u201d<\/p>\n
