The chase began when Montgomery County deputies attempted a traffic stop on a wanted man, MCSO said.<\/p>\n

HOUSTON \u2014 A police chase that started in Montgomery County came to an end when the suspect crashed out at Houston’s Bush Airport on Wednesday, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The chase began near the intersection of FM 1485 and FM 2090 as members of the sheriff’s office’s Crime Reduction Unit tried to arrest a man who was wanted on two felony warrants, including theft and child neglect.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Deputies tried to pull the the man over, who MCSO identified as 46-year-old Michael Vandeberghe, but he took off on his motorcycle.<\/p>\n

“The pursuit traveled into Houston and continued until Vandeberghe crashed the motorcycle into the exterior of the International Terminal at Bush Intercontinental Airport,” the sheriff’s office said on social media. “The crash occurred at relatively low speed, and damage to airport property was limited to an exterior A\/C unit.”<\/p>\n

The man was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. On top of his previous charges, MCSO said Vandeberghe faces charges of evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n

“The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Houston Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety for their vital assistance during the pursuit and at the scene of the arrest,” MCSO said.<\/p>\n
