Houston Art Car Parade: Bring the Parade to the People from 11 am to 2 pm today. According to their website more than 315,000 people are expected to enjoy the free event today!<\/p>\n
But first, what exactly is an art car?! <\/p>\n
Art Car: A vehicle whose owner has modified its appearance in a way to suit their own aesthetic, personality, or creative inspiration.<\/p>\n

Weather: We\u2019re tracking a slight chance for rain for a select few but not all areas on the west side and up to the north this afternoon into the evening with wind gusts picking up to 20 mph as we get into the afternoon with a high of 80.<\/p>\n

NWS defines \u201cisolated\u201d as meaning only small, scattered pockets of the area see rain \u2014 most will remain dry.<\/p>\n

Traffic Delays: The Art Car Parade is from 11-2 pm.<\/p>\n
Allen Parkway will shut down this morning at 7 a.m. and will stay that way until 6 p.m. and several streets east of Montrose will be for residents only for the parade.<\/p>\n

We are tracking a slight severe weather risk for areas like Columbus, Livingston, College Station and Crockett on Sunday with a marginal risk for severe weather (at least 5%).<\/p>\n
1 out of 5 (Marginal): Isolated severe storms are possible \u2014 limited in duration, coverage, and intensity.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll watch for a flash flood risk and a slight (at least 15%) for excessive rainfall for areas like College Station and Crockett.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll keep an eye on the chance for thunderstorms, wind gusts and hail. We\u2019ll be tracking lighter rain (areas to the west in the morning) and the chance for stronger storms as we get into Sunday afternoon into the evening hours.<\/p>\n
