So, which hospitality jobs are the most sought after in the state? Here\u2019s the data for almost 60 Texas cities, including San Antonio.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To work out the rankings, researchers used in-house data from user-generated job postings collected from\u00a0January to March 2026. The final study spotlights \u201cclear patterns in hiring needs at the local level,\u201d with a notable emphasis on quick-service roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAcross Texas, we\u2019re seeing a clear demand for operational roles that keep businesses running day to day,\u201d said Milos Eric, general manager and co-founder of OysterLink.\u00a0\u201cFast food workers and cashiers dominate because they\u2019re essential, but what\u2019s interesting is how certain cities are hiring more specialized roles depending on their local economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s true\u00a0\u2014 fast food workers were named as the Lone Star State\u2019s most sought-after employees, with a total of 17 out of 57 Texas cities requiring the services of approximately 261 workers. In San Antonio, however, housekeepers were the most sought-after workers in the city\u2019s hospitality industry, with a total of 28 job postings open on the OysterLink platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite being in such high demand, housekeepers and fast food workers are some of the lowest-paid employees in Texas. According to a September 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/spotlight\/2024\/a-look-at-jobs-paying-less-than-15-00-per-hour\/home.htm\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a> from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, many workers employed within these positions earn less than $15 hourly.
