COLLEGE STATION \u2013 This season, Texas baseball<\/a> has yet to lose a series in SEC play. But in order to keep that SEC series streak intact, the Longhorns have some work to do this weekend in enemy territory.<\/p>\n

Texas last lost a series to Texas in 2012.<\/p>\n

Texas (27-6, 9-4) is currently ranked No. 2 in the D1Baseball poll while Texas A&M (26-7, 8-5) is ranked 18th. Both the Longhorns and\u00a0Aggies are within striking distance of first-place Georgia (28-7, 10-3) in the SEC standings.<\/p>\n

The tarp has been removed at Blue Bell Park, and both teams have exited their locker rooms while the groundskeepers tend to the field.\u00a0It was just announced that\u00a0Texas and Texas A&M are set to resume play at 4 p.m. This weather started around 2:20 p.m.<\/p>\n

With rain falling in College Station, Texas A&M quickly responded to UT taking an early lead. The Aggies led off the game with back-to-back singles off of Texas starter Luke Harrison before Nico Partida later drove in two runs with a bases-loaded double.<\/p>\n

Then it started raining. A lot. With one out, two runners in scoring position and Terrence Kiel II facing a 1-1 count, play was stopped and a weather delay at Blue Bell Park went into effect.<\/p>\n

Ethan Mendoza led off the game with a double that Texas A&M centerfielder\u00a0Caden Sorrell was unable to corral at the outfield wall. Mendoza later tagged and moved to third base on Carson Tinney’s flyout to right field before scoring the game’s first run on a ground ball that was booted by Aggie shortstop Boston Kellner.<\/p>\n
