An El Paso woman was arrested on an intoxicated manslaughter charge almost a month after she allegedly caused a crash that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old girl<\/a> on Interstate 10, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Officers arrested 22-year-old Andrea Fernanda Soria on Thursday, April 9, on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle in the death of Sophia Elize Ramirez, El Paso police spokesman Officer Adrian Cisneros said in a news release.<\/p>\n

Theresa Caballero, who is listed as Soria’s attorney in court records, could not immediately be reached for comment.<\/p>\n

Soria was allegedly driving a 2022 Ford Mustang at a high speed about 11 p.m. on March 17 on Interstate 10 East near the Lee Trevino Drive when she crashed into the back of a 2017 Ford Escape, the news release states.<\/p>\n

The collision caused Ramirez to be thrown from the Ford Escape. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Ramirez died at the hospital on March 19.<\/p>\n

There were four other people \u2014 the driver was a 33-year-old man, and the passengers were a 36-year-old woman, a 1-year-old boy and an infant girl \u2014 in the Ford Escape at the time of the crash. Two 21-year-old women were passengers inside the Mustang. No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Soria was booked into the Downtown El Paso County Jail on Friday, April 10 \u2014 almost a month after the fatal crash \u2014 on a $150,000 bond. She posted a surety bond and was released from jail the same day, jail records show.<\/p>\n

A 15-year-old girl died after a vehicle she was in was struck from behind by another vehicle that was being driven at a high rate of speed about 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, on Interstate 10 East near the Lee Trevino exit in East El Paso.<\/p>\n
