That&#8217;s going to give us a chance, in the end, to do something special.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Mean Green (24-19, 13-5) edged out its sixth one-run victory of the season in the first game of the doubleheader before the Pirates (25-20, 9-9) struck back for eight runs in the series finale, tied for its second-highest run total in a conference game this season.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn game one of the doubleheader, <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/britney-lewinski\/7613\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7613\" target=\"_blank\">Britney Lewinski<\/a> (W, 12-9) held ECU to two runs over five innings before <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/anneca-anderson\/7363\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7363\" target=\"_blank\">Anneca Anderson<\/a> (S, 2) tallied her second save of the season and third of her career as she spun the final two innings. Both Lewinski and Anderson tallied two strikeouts.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nEast Carolina held a 2-0 lead after two and a half innings before North Texas fought back for three in the third and one in the fourth. <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/eva-daniels\/7618\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7618\" target=\"_blank\">Eva Daniels<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/madison-conley\/7367\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7367\" target=\"_blank\">Madison Conley<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/elizabeth-moffitt\/7373\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7373\" target=\"_blank\">Elizabeth Moffitt<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/taylor-platt\/7375\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7375\" target=\"_blank\">Taylor Platt<\/a> each scored one run as Daniels, <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/bradi-harman\/7615\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7615\" target=\"_blank\">Bradi Harman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/riley-mcnemar\/7372\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7372\" target=\"_blank\">Riley McNemar<\/a> tallied RBI.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFreshman <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/sienna-mayer\/7623\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7623\" target=\"_blank\">Sienna Mayer<\/a> finished Saturday&#8217;s opener 2-for-3 as posted her third consecutive two-hit game and fourth overall of the season.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn the series finale, Mayer was promoted to the leadoff spot in the order and was one of two Mean Green bats to collect a hit. She later scored on a two-run home run from Conley in the sixth inning.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nConley reached 14 home runs for the season which marks the seventh-most in program history while she sits at 12 doubles, tied for 10th in single-season history.
