SEATTLE\u00a0\u2014 The Houston Astros<\/a>\u2019 sudden spate of injury concerns continued Saturday night, with shortstop Jeremy Pe\u00f1a exiting their game against the Seattle Mariners due to a knee issue.<\/p>\n

Pe\u00f1a was replaced by a pinch-runner in the top of the fourth inning at T-Mobile Park. The Astros later said Pe\u00f1a was removed from the game due to \u201cright posterior knee tightness.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was unclear when the issue arose. Pe\u00f1a had singled in the top of the fourth, tagged up to second base on a fly out and taken third on a single. He was replaced at third base by pinch-runner Nick Allen.<\/p>\n

Pe\u00f1a, an All-Star last year, was playing in his 10th game of the season Saturday. Houston eased him into everyday starts<\/a> during the first week in his return from a right ring fingertip fracture sustained in early March.<\/p>\n

The Astros placed starters Hunter Brown<\/a> and Cristian Javier<\/a> on the injured list with right shoulder strains this week and put center fielder Jake Meyers<\/a> on the IL with an oblique muscle strain.
