{"id":245886,"date":"2026-04-12T04:20:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T04:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/245886\/"},"modified":"2026-04-12T04:20:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T04:20:08","slug":"east-dallas-neighbors-hear-loud-music-from-fair-park-concerts-miles-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/245886\/","title":{"rendered":"East Dallas neighbors hear loud music from Fair Park concerts miles away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a statement, Dallas City Councilmember Adam Bazaldua said he is working with the city\u2019s Park and Recreation Department to address the issue.<\/p>\n<p>DALLAS, Texas \u2014 Residents in the Lakewood and East Dallas neighborhoods say they were surprised to hear<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/fort-worth-crackdown-on-excessive-vehicle-noise-in-downtown\/287-3da312b3-0782-4f3d-986e-659bc17b616c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0loud music\u00a0<\/a>late into the night, even though the source was miles away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou could feel the bass through the walls,\u201d one resident said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was just &#8216;boom, boom&#8217;\u2026 It sounded like it was coming right out of the floor,\u201d added Dan Merebith.<\/p>\n<p>Some residents stepped outside, thinking the noise was coming from nearby homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI originally thought it was my next-door neighbor\u2019s house\u2026 I thought they were having a party,\u201d one person said.<\/p>\n<p>But neighbors soon realized the sound wasn\u2019t coming from their street. Instead, it was coming from Fair Park, more than four miles away.<\/p>\n<p>The area hosted both the Breakaway Music Festival and a concert at Dos Equis Pavilion on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess they had a noise complaint last night,\u201d one driver near the venue said.<\/p>\n<p>Residents say the music carried from about 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., loud enough to spark dozens of posts on social media and neighborhood apps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody in the neighborhood was fired up about it last night,\u201d said resident Brian Straley.<\/p>\n<p>Others described the sound as high-energy, driven by DJ music and heavy bass.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Dallas City Councilmember Adam Bazaldua said he is working with the city\u2019s Park and Recreation Department to address the issue.<\/p>\n<p>That includes monitoring sound levels and improving how noise is managed during large events.<\/p>\n<p>Bazaldua said several factors may explain why residents&#8217; miles away could hear the music including the positioning of the stage, which faces open land, and weather conditions that can carry sound farther than expected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s insane.
