CANYON, Texas (April 11, 2026) \u2013 Lubbock Christian University’s men’s and women’s track and field teams had an impressive weekend competing at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multis hosted by West Texas A&M, getting a combined seven NCAA provisional marks, a first place finish and a new school record.
\n\u00a0
\nMaurice Gray<\/a> set a new program record in the long jump, where he placed fifth overall. His leap of 7.57 meters surpassed the previous record of 7.51, set by Kevin Washington<\/a> in 2023. It is also a provisional mark and the eighth-best jump in Division II this season.
\n\u00a0
\nLCU’s event win also came on the men’s side, where they took first in the 4X400. The team comprised of Aden Soto<\/a>, Christian Saenz<\/a>, Nevaeh Anderson and Daniel Sianez<\/a> posted a time of 3:10.97 to place first. The provisional mark is 17th-fastest in D-II.

\nSianez had an individual provisional mark as well. He placed sixth in the 200-meter with a time of 20.94, which is a new personal best.
\n\u00a0
\nIn the 400-meter, LCU four runners in the top 10, including provisional marks from Reuel Campbell<\/a> and Chris Moffett<\/a>. Campbell placed third, running the sixth-fastest D-II time this season at 46.54. Moffet’s time of 47.06 was good for fifth place.
\n\u00a0
\nThe Chaps got other strong performances from Matthew Gordon<\/a>, who took sixth in the 800, Alfons Rawall<\/a>, who took third in the 5000, and Jaqualand Fields, whose time of 54.19 in the 400-meter hurdles placed him fifth.
\n\u00a0
\nLCU’s first two provisional marks of the 2026 season on the women’s side came in the exact same event. Both Elizabeth Florez<\/a> and Joy Egwu<\/a> placed in the top five in the 400-meter and recorded personal bests.
\n\u00a0
\nFlorez placed second overall and ran a 54.47, while Egwu took fifth with a 54.73.
\n\u00a0
\nOlivia Weider<\/a> had a strong showing in the 5000-meter, placing fifth with a time of 18:57.53. LCU also got a pair of top-10 finishes in the 800-meter from Isabella Jaime<\/a>, who took sixth with a time of 2:17.67 and Lily Rodriguez<\/a>, who placed eighth, finishing in 2:23.27.

\nLubbock Christian will next be in competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational April 16-18 in Azusa, California.
