The visitors belted a pair of two-run home runs before a single out was recorded, jumping out to an early four-run lead. By the time the dust had settled, the ‘Runners headed back home with a 6-2 win under their belts. James Hubbard picked up his first victory of the season in his first start of the campaign, tossing two scoreless innings with just one baserunner allowed.

THEY’RE NOT CALLED HOMERUNNERS

Of UTSA’s last 26 games, just seven have come at home. Across the 19 games away from Roadrunner Field, the squad went 12-7, taking four of six such games in American play. Four of the seven ‘Runner defeats came by one run, with two in walk-off fashion.

A SPECIAL MEANING TO 210

With Tuesday’s win at Tarleton State, Head Coach Pat Hallmark surpassed Jason Marshall (209) for the second most wins in program history with 210. Hallmark enters the weekend now needing 144 more victories to pass Sherman Corbett atop UTSA’s all-time coaching leaderboard (353 wins).

FLOODING THE BIRD BATH

The Navy & Orange faithful have made their support clear at Roadrunner Field as of late. UTSA has set single-series attendance records in three straight home weekends, establishing new highs against Dallas Baptist (3,048), UT Arlington (3,182) and East Carolina (3,371).

The series win over the Pirates was the first in the ballpark’s 34-year history with an average attendance over 1,100 per game. In half of their home contests this season (seven of 14), the Roadrunners have played in front of crowds larger than listed capacity (1,000).

CM PUNKS

On Monday, Caden Miller and Conor Myles were both named to the American Conference Player of the Week Honorable Mention list. The duo became the first pair of Roadrunners to earn the distinction on the same week this season. Myles picked up his second honor of 2026 while Miller tallied his first.

THE BATS ARE HOT

UTSA ranks inside the nation’s top 30 with 355 hits (18th), a .314 batting average (21st), a .430 on-base percentage (17th), 294 total runs scored (16th), 25 sacrifice flies (fourth) and 8.9 runs per game (17th).

In 16 of 33 games this season, UTSA has scored at least 10 runs. The group is averaging more than a score per frame, plating 294 runners in 281.1 innings of work. The Roadrunners have hit multiple home runs in more than 40% of their outings, doing so 14 times this spring.

WIN SUNDAY

In the series finale against ECU, UTSA improved to 6-1 on Sundays this season, only dropping a 4-5 contest at NM State on March 8. The Roadrunners’ motto has led to success on getaway days, going perfect in three conference weekend finales, including two road wins.

ABOUT THE BULLS

South Florida is under the direction of second-year Head Coach Mitch Hannahs, who holds a 55-33 record in his time with the program. The Bulls are coming off a series win over Memphis at home, taking two of three from the Tigers. USF (24-8) enters the weekend one game behind UTSA in the American Conference standings at 5-4. Hannahs’ squad holds the fewest overall losses in the league this season, only dropping one series all year to Charlotte.

UP NEXT

After their weekend matchup, UTSA will hit the road once again for a midweek matchup at Baylor. The Bears are set to host the ‘Runners on Tuesday, April 14, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. in Waco.
