FRISCO, Texas – St. Louis City picked up a point on the road after a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The match remained scoreless through the first half until\u00a0FC Dallas\u2019 Louicius Deedson scored two minutes into the second half. STL City outshot Dallas 5-3 and tied the game when Timo Baumgartl scored in the 61st minute.\u00a0Baumgartl scored his first career MLS goal, while Daniel Edelman recorded his team-leading third assist of the season.<\/p>\n
:There was no panic after that goal,” STL City coach Yoann Damet said. “It was just about momentum, regaining momentum, and making the most out of the opportunities we created. And the guys did a did a great job at that.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019m happy with the response. It could have been a game that could have dragged on in terms of getting that response and coming back from behind, but I thought it wasn’t too long after this goal that we were able to equalize.”<\/p>\n
The draw extended St. Louis\u2019 unbeaten streak to three matches and marked the first time STL City earned a point in a game at Toyota Stadium.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s about damn time right to get a point here,” \u00a0Baumgartl\u00a0 said. “Honestly, I’m happy to score a goal, but when you look back at the game, I think we would have deserved a win here. We played a great first half. Should have scored in the second half, we can see the goal on our mistake, but still, we have a big chance in the last minute.<\/p>\n
“I’m a little bit disappointed about the result, but we will keep going. It’s now three games in a row unbeaten. We’re building something special here, but we need to be more clinical at the end to win this game.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
St. Louis City will begin its U.S. Open Cup journey this Wednesday at Energizer Park at 7 p.m. against\u00a0 USL Championship team FC Tulsa.<\/p>\n
