EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning that left a 55-year-old man dead has prompted an extended road closure as investigators work at the scene.<\/p>\n
Officers with the Anthony Police Department responded at about 9:37 a.m. Saturday, April 11, to the intersection of FM 1905 and Wildcat Drive for a reported motor vehicle accident. When they arrived, they found a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in the man\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
The scene was turned over to the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office Special Traffic Investigators, who handle traffic fatality investigations.<\/p>\n
According to officials, a preliminary investigation found that a black Tesla was traveling eastbound, approaching the intersection of Wildcast Drive. At the same time, a white Ford passenger vehicle was driving westbound and attempted to make a left turn onto Wildcat Drive. The Ford failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with the Tesla.<\/p>\n
The collision of the two vehicles caused them to strike two more vehicles at the intersection as a result.<\/p>\n
Driving the white Ford was 55-year-old Oscar Garcia. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries<\/p>\n
The intersection of Antonio Street and Wildcat Drive will remain closed for an extended period while the investigation continues. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.<\/p>\n
