Plano is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they’ve averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.<\/p>\n Plano easily dispatched McKinney Boyd on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of Plano East by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Panthers: they’ve now lost six in a row.<\/p>\n Cadence Charland<\/a> was cooking despite her team’s loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she’s now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she’s played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Zhang<\/a>, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Rock Hill hadn’t done well against Plano East recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn’t let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Blue Hawks were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Blue Hawks, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.<\/p>\n Madilynn Grossman<\/a> made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Grossman was also solid in the batter’s box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.<\/p>\n In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ali Sanchez<\/a>, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Madelyn Kerrigan<\/a> was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.<\/p>\n Rock Hill’s record is now 9-11. As for Plano, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12-1.<\/p>\n Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Plano hasn’t had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it’s not like Rock Hill struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it’ll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.<\/p>\n Plano came out on top in a nail-biter against Rock Hill when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won’t have the home-field advantage this time around.
