<\/p>\n LUBBOCK, Texas (April 12, 2026) \u2014 Lubbock Christian University secured the series win against Eastern New Mexico with a 12-8 victory on Sunday at Hays Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Chaps jumped to a strong start with four runs in the first inning, adding three more in the second. The team then sealed the win with a decisive four-run seventh inning. Eastern New Mexico attempted a late comeback with four runs in the eighth but fell short.<\/p>\n The Chaparrals now have a record of 24-18 and have moved into fifth place in the Lone Star Conference standings, just a game back of St. Edward’s for the No. 4 spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n Eastern New Mexico got on the board first, but the Chaps took the lead quickly, scoring four runs in the bottom of the frame. Jorge De Los Santos<\/a> started the scoring with a two-out homer to left field, followed by Ryan Gargett’s<\/a> RBI double. Freddie Nolen<\/a> closed the inning with a two-run homer to right, giving the Chaps a lead they would not relinquish.\u00a0<\/p>\n The momentum continued in the second inning as LCU loaded the bases and Hudson Grace<\/a> cleared them with a three-RBI double to right center, extending the lead to 7-1 through two innings.<\/p>\n ENMU added a run in the third inning on a throwing error, but Lubbock Christian maintained its lead, 7-2, after three innings.<\/p>\n In the fourth, De Los Santos delivered again with an RBI single to center, increasing the margin to 8-2 after four innings. A quiet fifth and sixth inning followed, with no additional runs scored by either team.<\/p>\n In the seventh inning, the Chaps’ offense reignited. De Los Santos singled, and Johnny Gomez III’s<\/a> single set the stage for Nolen, who reached on a fielder’s choice, scoring De Los Santos. Tanner Pachorek<\/a> walked with the bases loaded to score another, and Kyle Lewis<\/a> hit a two-RBI single to right center, advancing the lead to 12-4 at the end of the seventh.<\/p>\n The Greyhounds responded in the eighth inning, capitalizing on an error to score four unearned runs, narrowing the gap to 12-8, but Isaiah Gonzalez<\/a> came in on the mound for the ninth and pitched a scoreless frame to close out the game.<\/p>\n GAME NOTES:\u00a0 NEXT UP:
\n– The Chaps are now 76-26 all-time against the Greyhounds and have not lost multiple games against ENMU in one season in Lubbock since 1971.
\n– Hudson Grace<\/a> finished the weekend batting .467 against ENMU with six of his seven hits going for extra bases for a slugging percentage of 1.000.
\n– The Chaps hit two homers on Sunday, which are the only two they hit in the four-game series. They are now second in the LSC with 46, one back of UT Tyler.
\n– Bryce Nall<\/a> allowed just one earned run for his second consecutive start, lowering his season ERA to 5.17. The Greyhounds were just 2-for-11 (.182) with runners on base against the sophomore.
\n– The Chaps hit .365 with runners in scoring position on the weekend, compared to just .200 from ENMU.<\/p>\n
