After waiting over eight hours on Sunday, Texas baseball<\/a> will have to wait even longer to play Texas A&M again.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s series finale between Texas and Texas A&M<\/a> has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the College Station area. The Aggies and Longhorns were set to play at 1 p.m., but weather delays kept pushing back the first pitch at Blue Bell Park. Around 9:30 p.m., the game was finally called. This conference contest will not be rescheduled.<\/p>\n

Despite a long and uneventful day at the ballpark, Texas A&M still had a successful weekend at UT’s expense. Texas A&M opened its SEC series against Texas and former coach Jim Schlossnagle<\/a> with Friday’s 9-8 win<\/a> and Saturday’s 11-4\u00a0victory<\/a>. The Aggies last won a series against Texas in 2012, but Sunday’s weather prevented the Aggies from going for their first three-game sweep of the Longhorns in 35 years.<\/p>\n

Ranked No. 2 and No. 18 in the D1Baseball poll, Texas (27-7, 9-5) and Texas A&M (27-7, 9-5) remain locked in a second-place tie in the SEC standings. Both teams are chasing No. 4 Georgia (29-8, 11-4).<\/p>\n

Texas will return to\u00a0UFCU Disch-Falk Field this upcoming Tuesday for a home game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
