EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 A mother was arrested after deputies received a report of a found child in Far East El Paso on Sunday, April 12, according to the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Andrea Itzel Martinez, 29, was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on one count of abandoning or endangering a child with a bond of $2,500.<\/p>\n

Sheriff\u2019s deputies arrived at the 500 block of Kearney Way around 6 p.m. after a witness said she saw a 2-year-old child walking alone along the sidewalk in Far East El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Deputies said they showed up at Martinez\u2019s home and smelled alcohol coming from Martinez while she was home with the toddler and an 11-month-old child.<\/p>\n

Martinez told officers that the 2-year-old had allegedly opened the front door on his own and had been outside for around 10 minutes before she realized he was gone.<\/p>\n

She admitted to consuming alcohol and smoking marijuana while caring for the children.<\/p>\n

Police then took Martinez into custody.<\/p>\n

El Paso County jail records state Martinez was booked in Downtown El Paso, on Monday, April 13.<\/p>\n
