James Reecy <\/p>\n
Reecy joins Texas Tech from Iowa State University, where he has served as associate
\n vice president for research since 2017. At Iowa State, he oversaw a research enterprise
\n with over $466 million in annual expenditures, facilitated more than $230 million
\n in annual federal funding and supported interdisciplinary growth. He served as director
\n of the Office of Biotechnology after rising through the faculty ranks to professor
\n of animal science.<\/p>\n
As Vice President for Research & Innovation, Reecy will be central to strengthening
\n Texas Tech\u2019s competitiveness and fulfilling its long-term aspirations as a premier
\n national research university.<\/p>\n

He earned his doctorate in animal science from Purdue University, a master\u2019s degree
\n from the University of Missouri, and a bachelor\u2019s degree from South Dakota State University,
\n and he completed a postdoctoral position at Baylor College of Medicine. He also holds
\n a certificate in management and leadership in education from the Harvard Graduate
\n School of Education.<\/p>\n
The appointment follows a national search supported by a committee of faculty and
