The sports bar, located on South Padre Island Drive, abruptly closed on April 12.<\/p>\n
Despite a small “We’re Open” banner hanging on the front of the Hooters location, a sign posted on the door window states that the business is closed.<\/p>\n

“This decision has been made as part of our current efforts to focus, revitalize and strengthen the Original Hooters brand across America,” the sign reads. “We are sincerely grateful to our guests, team members, and community partners for their continued support and loyalty throughout the years.”<\/p>\n
A voice message recorded on the local location’s phone number also confirms the Corpus Christi location is permanently closed.<\/p>\n
This summer, the restaurant chain closed over 30 company-owned locations<\/a> in multiple states. The company filed for bankruptcy in March and previously closed several restaurants.<\/p>\n
