{"id":249114,"date":"2026-04-14T12:08:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T12:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/249114\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T12:08:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T12:08:07","slug":"texas-university-earns-near-no-1-spot-in-new-ranking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/249114\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas university earns near No. 1 spot in new ranking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. News &amp; World Report published last week its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/best-graduate-schools\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">analysis of the best graduate school programs<\/a> for 2026, offering both statewide and national rankings of programs in the business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing sectors, among others.\u00a0Zeroing in on Texas universities, a familiar shade of burnt orange reigned supreme, taking top honors in five programs.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Texas at Austin swept the competition in U.S. News &amp; World Report&#8217;s state rankings, scoring No. 1 spots among Texas universities for its engineering, education, law, business and nursing programs. Elsewhere in Central Texas, San Marcos-based Texas State University cinched a No. 10 ranking for its nursing program, adding even more prowess to the region&#8217;s higher education scene.<\/p>\n<p>On the national level, UT continued to dominate with Top 20 rankings in those same five programs. Both the Cockrell School of Engineering and the College of Education nabbed No. 6 rankings in their respective sectors, while the UT School of Law ranked No. 16 in the nation.
