{"id":249820,"date":"2026-04-14T21:07:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T21:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/249820\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T21:07:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T21:07:08","slug":"1-1m-watters-trail-south-project-set-for-may-debut-in-allen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/249820\/","title":{"rendered":"$1.1M Watters Trail South project set for May debut in Allen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWatters Trail South is scheduled to be open to residents at the end of May, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofallen.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Allen<\/a> Trail System Planner Krishan Patel said.<\/p>\n<p>The project kicked off in mid-October after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofallen.org\/government\/city_council\/index.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Allen City Council<\/a> approved the $1.1 million construction contract in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofallen.org\/parksrec_news_detail_T99_R348.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">September<\/a>, according to city documents.<\/p>\n<p>The details<\/p>\n<p>The Watters Trail South extension will begin at The Montgomery Apartments at <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/allen\/business\/2026\/04\/01\/upgrades-planned-for-allens-watters-creek-village-following-new-ownership\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Watters Creek<\/a> and end near the future Rowlett Trail.<\/p>\n<p>Funding for the project is split between two sources.
