An El Paso County man remains jailed after allegedly threatening to “kill some cops and military” on a Facebook post over the the weekend.<\/p>\n

Cristian H. Sanchez, 35, faces a charge of making a terroristic threat for allegedly threatening to go to police stations and Fort Bliss to kill police and military personnel, stated an El Paso Police Department news release by Officer Adrian Cisneros.<\/p>\n

Sanchez is being held at the El Paso County jail in Downtown. During a teleconference bond hearing on Tuesday morning, April 14, Magistrate Judge Ray Duke refused to lower Sanchez’s $5,000 bond, citing the nature of the case and community safety.<\/p>\n

Cristian H. Sanchez was arrested by El Paso police on a terroristic threat charge for allegedly posting threats on Facebook to attack police stations and Fort Bliss to kill police and soldiers on April 10, 2026, in El Paso, Texas.<\/p>\n

Public defense attorney Maya Quevedo mentioned at the hearing that Sanchez gets treatment for unspecified mental health issues.<\/p>\n

El Paso man accused of threatening to kill ‘cops and military’<\/p>\n

Late Friday night, April 10, police were alerted via an anonymous tip through the city’s 311 hotline<\/a> that Sanchez allegedly made threatening posts on Facebook, police stated.<\/p>\n

Sanchez, in a rambling post, claimed he was going to “war” for the United States and invited anyone to join him to “kill some cops and military” at police stations and Fort Bliss, reported Channel 9-KTSM, citing a criminal complaint affidavit.<\/p>\n

Sanchez also stated that he needed ammunition, guns and “maybe” a car and asked for monetary donations.<\/p>\n

In a coordinated multi-agency investigation and response, El Paso County sheriff’s deputies located and initially arrested Sanchez on traffic warrants at his home on Stacey Ann Lane near Montana Vista Elementary School in Montana Vista, police and prosecution officials said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they picked him, the defendant gave a statement to the officers and admitted that he had made the post,” Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Vandenbosch said at the bond hearing.<\/p>\n

Sanchez was booked into jail on Sunday, April 12, according to a jail log.<\/p>\n
