Election Day is\u00a0May 2nd with Early Voting starting on Monday, April 20 until Tuesday, April 28.<\/p>\n
Lubbock City Council Election May 2026<\/p>\n
There are four seats up for election. That includes the the\u00a0Mayor and City Council Districts 1, 3, and 5. Later, there will be a special election for fill the District 4 seat.<\/p>\n
Lubbock Mayoral Candidates<\/p>\n
Unlike Council Members, who get a four term, the Mayor of Lubbock is up for reelection every 2 years. These are the candidates:<\/p>\n
Incumbent Mayor Mark McBrayer. Elected as Mayor in 2024 after spending 2 years on the City Council.Stephan Sanders- Sanders is a local community activist and has run for Mayor 5 times in Lubbock. He is also a\u00a0musician.Peggy Bohmfalk, veteran and digital content creator.G. Todd Winans, self-employed businessman.District 1 City CouncilIncumbent City Councilwoman\u00a0Christy Martinez-Garcia. Garcia was first elected to the Lubbock City Council in 2022.Pat Kelly, businessman, former Lubbock Police Officer. Kelly has run for the office before and lost.District 3 City Council<\/p>\n
