{"id":251454,"date":"2026-04-15T20:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T20:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/251454\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T20:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T20:59:09","slug":"united-supermarkets-mrs-bairds-honor-lubbock-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/251454\/","title":{"rendered":"United Supermarkets, Mrs Baird\u2019s honor Lubbock teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; Three South Plains educators have been recognized as March winners in the annual Teachers on the Rise program, sponsored by United Supermarkets and Mrs Baird\u2019s Bread.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Christina Roberson of Stewart Elementary School in Lubbock ISD, Jon Sides of Frenship Middle School in Frenship ISD and Matthew Garcia of Lubbock High School in Lubbock ISD were selected for the honor, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The program, now in its 15th year, highlights teachers who go beyond classroom expectations. Organizers said more than 1,300 nominations have been submitted this school year from students and families across the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur teachers go above and beyond every single day, and it feels great to shine a spotlight on their hard work,\u201d said Abie Rampy, director of public relations for The United Family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Each winning teacher receives a $100 United Supermarkets gift card, lunch for two at the Texas Tech Club and a gift box from Mrs Baird\u2019s. Students who nominated the selected teachers receive a $50 American Express gift card.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Shane Sumrow, the program\u2019s director, said nominations remain open through the spring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe encourage students and families to continue sending in nominations,\u201d Sumrow said in the release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Teachers on the Rise program is sponsored by the Texas Tech Club and Atmos Energy.
