What is the U.S. Open Cup?<\/p>\n
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is a single-elimination tournament hosted by USA Soccer and independent of the American leagues. It began with 80 teams across every level of soccer, including amateur teams and 16 MLS team.<\/p>\n
The MLS teams are entering the tournament now, in the third round, the round of 32. As a USL Championship team, the Locomotive had to win two games to reach this point.<\/p>\n
El Paso Locomotive record<\/p>\n
After a 2-2 tie in their opener, the El Paso Locomotive have won six straight across all competitions and are now 6-0-1. They are 4-0-1 and in first place in the USL Championship, and have also won two U.S. Open Cup games, including a 4-0 win against arch-rival New Mexico on April 1.<\/p>\n
Houston Dynamo record<\/p>\n
The Dynamo are 2-4-0 (four losses) in all MLS games and are 12th in the 15-team Western Conference.<\/p>\n
