{"id":252313,"date":"2026-04-16T09:23:21","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T09:23:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/252313\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T09:23:21","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T09:23:21","slug":"5-places-to-watch-the-parade-of-ships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/252313\/","title":{"rendered":"5 places to watch the Parade of Ships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Parade of Ships is scheduled to begin around 7 a.m. Wednesday, when the vessels will enter Galveston Bay on their way to Houston.<\/p>\n<p>As the ships move through the Houston Ship Channel, residents in Bay Area cities may be searching for viewing locations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here are some places people can head to with their\u00a0binoculars to watch as ships parade by for Fleet Week.<\/p>\n<p>Residents and visitors in Galveston will be able to watch the Parade of Ships as it moves through Galveston Bay from about 7 to 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the city\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors can watch from several locations, including Seawolf Park, R.A. Apffel East Beach Park, Boddecker Road and the Galveston jetties.<br \/>Galveston advises visitors to arrive early because heavy traffic is expected during the morning hours.<\/p>\n<p>Kemah Boardwalk, a popular destination, is among the places people can watch the vessels pass during the Parade of Ships.<\/p>\n<p>The city of\u00a0Kemah said there is no single best viewing spot, as visitors can watch from restaurants, hotels on the boardwalk and businesses in the Lighthouse District.<\/p>\n<p>The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site will be closed to the public Wednesday, but visitors can watch the ships pass from Seguin Park.<\/p>\n<p>Seabrook is another city along the parade route, and Pine Gully Park is expected to be a popular viewing location, the city said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ships are going to be at a distance, but that park has the best view of the parade route from Galveston,\u201d the city of Seabrook said in an email.<\/p>\n<p>La Porte residents and visitors may also watch the parade from Sylvan Beach.
