About 100 audience members at the April 13, 2026 True Texas Project Tarrant County meeting sat enthralled by Krista Schild\u2019s presentation warning of the \u201cIslamification of Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not let them get away with it anymore,\u201d Krista Schild said near the end of her presentation outlining the threat of Islam Monday night at the Texas Star Golf Course in Euless.<\/p>\n
She said Texas is the \u201cground zero\u201d for Muslims wanting to take over the nation.<\/p>\n
The state\u2019s Muslim population is estimated to be about 313,000, or a little more than 1.1% of the population of Texas,<\/a> according to the World Population Review.<\/p>\n Tarrant County\u2019s chapter of the True Texas Project hosted Schild to inform attendees about the \u201chottest topic\u201d in Texas politics, President Fran Rhodes told the Star-Telegram. Schild is the Texas Director at RAIR Foundation USA<\/a>, an organization aiming to defend America\u2019s constitution, borders and Judeo-Christian values.<\/p>\n Before the talk began, Republican elected officials and candidates including District Court Judge Andy Hsu, District Clerk Tom Wilder and Senate District 9 candidate Leigh Wambsganss asked the crowd for their vote in upcoming elections.<\/p>\n The talk given Monday night largely focused on the \u201cpower network\u201d Muslims have in government and warned that if action is not taken, America could become an Islamic nation.<\/p>\n Schild said RAIR was instrumental in getting Gov. Greg Abbott to declare the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations<\/a>. The action allows heightened enforcement against the groups and prohibits both from purchasing or acquiring land in Texas.<\/p>\n Among other Islamic groups, Schild labeled the Muslim Student Association and CAIR as dangerous organizations leading the Islamic infiltration and recruiting children to an extreme militant movement.<\/p>\n Southern Poverty Law Center has determined RAIR Foundation is an anti-Muslim hate group<\/a> promoting conspiracy theories and vilifying American Muslim communities. CAIR has said the group spreads Islamophobia and aligns with known white supremacist groups<\/a> and individuals since 2013.<\/p>\n Although the fire alarm \u2014 dubbed a false alarm \u2014 went off no less than 30 separate times throughout the first half of the hour-long presentation, roughly 100 attendees paid close attention.<\/p>\n At the end, Rhodes assured the crowd that one of True Texas Project\u2019s top priorities for the 2027 Texas legislative session is to oppose Sharia and Islamic expansion in Texas. According to the Council on Foreign Relations, Sharia \u2014 meaning the correct path in Arabic \u2014 refers to the divine counsel that Muslims<\/a> follow to be close to God and live moral lives.<\/p>\n Schild\u2019s presentation plays into a larger wave of conservatives warning of the \u201cIslamification\u201d of Texas.
