{"id":252714,"date":"2026-04-16T15:17:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T15:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/252714\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T15:17:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T15:17:13","slug":"dallas-auto-mechanic-sentenced-for-trafficking-drugs-out-of-his-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/252714\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas auto mechanic sentenced for trafficking drugs out of his business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Dallas auto mechanic has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for trafficking drugs out of his business. <\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors say Jose Cruz Badillo-Rivera, 50, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 87 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Court records show that in January 2020, an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in the Eastern District of Texas identified Badillo-Rivera as a large-scale methamphetamine distributor. Investigators said he negotiated drug transactions from his Dallas automotive repair shop.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors said the case stemmed from a broader investigation into drug distribution in the region.<\/p>\n<p>This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T.
