HOUSTON \u2014 The body of missing 23-year-old Ashanti Allen<\/a> has been found in southwest Houston, her family has confirmed.<\/p>\n Allen was about 8 months pregnant when she was reported missing earlier this month, officials said.<\/p>\n Crews with the Houston Police Department and Texas EquuSearch had been actively looking for her. On Thursday, EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said a body was found near Chimney Rock Park. Allen’s family later confirmed it was her.<\/p>\n Allen had last been seen<\/a> on April 10 at an apartment complex off Main Street near NRG Stadium. Family members told KHOU 11’s Anayeli Ruiz during the search that they had gotten a strange text from her in the middle of the night, saying she was not coming back.<\/p>\n RELATED: Search underway for missing pregnant woman in Houston<\/a><\/p>\n They said the circumstances were odd, as Allen had left all her belongings at the apartment, including items for the baby.<\/p>\n Miller said Allen had been having difficulties with her pregnancy and did not have her own car.<\/p>\n “Thinking she left on her own, I don’t see that happening,” Miller said as the search was ongoing.<\/p>\n
