CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A 27-year-old man was arrested after leading deputies and police on a high-speed motorcycle chase across parts of Corpus Christi early Thursday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Nueces County Precinct Five Constable said the suspect, Justin Venegas, faces multiple charges, including evading arrest in a vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (PG1 1\u20134 grams), and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.<\/p>\n
The constable said the motorcycle involved in the pursuit was reported stolen by the Corpus Christi Police Department on Tuesday and later recovered and returned to its owner.<\/p>\n
The incident began shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday when Precinct 5 deputies assisted a Corpus Christi Police officer tracking a suspected stolen motorcycle leaving the city near TX-44 and FM 3386.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Deputies located the motorcycle near FM 1694 and County Road 44, but the rider refused to stop, leading to a pursuit.<\/p>\n
The chase continued at high speed through Violet and Up River Road, passed through the Five Points area, and south toward County Road 36 near Interstate 69.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Venegas eventually stopped and surrendered to authorities.<\/p>\n
