NEW CANEY, Texas \u2014 Florida-based supply chain company Saddle Creek Logistics is planning layoffs at its distribution facility near Houston.<\/p>\n
Saddle Creek, which specializes in warehousing, transportation and order fulfillment, plans to lay off 168 employees at its warehouse at 18777 Industrial Parkway in New Caney, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter the company sent to the Texas Workforce Commission<\/a>. Saddle Creek operates a 1.5 million-square-foot facility at the location on behalf of one of its clients, according to its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n The layoffs will occur on June 11. The affected employees do not have bumping rights and are not represented by a union.<\/p>\n Of the employees being laid off, 115 are forklift operators, according to the WARN letter.
