Lingr finished the night with a goal and two assists in just his first start of the season and first goal since July 29, 2025.

El Paso would go down a man off a straight red shown to Kofi Twumasi after he pushed Lingr to ground just outside the eighteen in the 25th minute.

Despite the man advantage, Houston was unable to mount any sustainable offense against El Paso causing head coach Ben Olsen to spur his team in the halftime locker room.

Support TheCup.us and its coverage of the US Open Cup by purchasing a “We Want The Cup” shirt in your team’s colors.
