It&#8217;s not a long stretch of road that opened but the stretch along 1585 marks a historic moment for the future of the area.<\/p>\n<p>What was a 2-lane road has been transformed into a 6-lane\u00a0freeway according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everythinglubbock.com\/news\/local-news\/lubbock-drivers-take-first-spin-on-new-loop-88-section\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">KAMC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Phases 3A and 3B rebuilt FM 1585 (130th Street) from a two-lane road to a six-lane freeway with frontage roads, bridges and ramps.
