EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 The Harmony Science Academy (HSA)-El Paso Rocketry teams qualified for the American Rocketry Challenge National Finals, competing against 100 other teams nationwide.<\/p>\n

HSA has performed as one of the few programs in the country, and the first within Harmony Public Schools, to rank among the top 24 teams nationwide, which is often referred to as the \u201cSuper League,\u201d according to a news release by Harmony.<\/p>\n

Here is the team\u2019s ranking in the previous years at the American Rocketry Challenge:<\/p>\n

2023: 5th place in the United States<\/p>\n

2024: 8th place nationally<\/p>\n

2025: Two teams ranked in the Top 24<\/p>\n

In addition to the achievement, the competition has opened opportunities for students to participate in the NASA Student Launch Initiative.<\/p>\n

According to Harmony, the rocket teams provide students with real-world STEM experiences, including designing and testing rockets using industry tools. Students develop skills in physics, engineering, teamwork and leadership.<\/p>\n

In 2026, the American Rocketry Challenge reached a record high of 1,107 participating teams, and only the top 100 earned invitations to nationals on May 16, according to Harmony. The winning team will advance to represent the United States at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026.<\/p>\n
