Fans of a popular \u2014 yet controversial<\/a> \u2014 comedy troupe are upset after a tour date in San Antonio.<\/p>\n

Killers of Kill Tony stopped by the Majestic Theatre in downtown San Antonio on April 11, but according to a Facebook post, some fans who purchased tickets through StubHub were turned away or issued refunds.\u00a0“We’re supposed to be in there drinking and having a great time but unfortunately we got screwed by\u00a0StubHub along with a whole bunch of other people,” a Facebook user<\/a> by the name of Eric Cantu wrote. “DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM StubHub!!!!!!! This is really sh*tty.” In the comments, Cantu added that they were issued a full refund, but “that doesn’t fix the situation.”<\/p>\n

Others commiserated, saying “They told us to come back for the 930 show. But we weren\u2019t doing that, after a 30 minute on the phone they switched our tickets luckily and upgraded our tickets to lower orchestra for free.” Another wrote that StubHub had contacted them the weekend of the event offering a half refund.<\/p>\n

“So many people were so upset last night,” one comment reads.<\/p>\n

Killers of Kill Tony is a stand-up comedy tour branching off of the Austin-based\u00a0Kill Tony podcast. According to the Majestic<\/a>, the lineup included Ari Matti, Hans Kim, David Lucas and Martin Phillips, and one commenter on Facebook\u00a0said podcast host Tony Hinchcliffe showed up as a surprise guest. Hinchcliffe faced backlash in October 2024 after he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” during a New York City campaign rally for President Donald Trump \u2014 a past that caused comedian Cristela Alonzo to reschedule her show that was originally booked for the\u00a0same night at the neighboring Empire Theatre.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s unclear exactly what caused the ticket mishaps with this show. However, StubHub calls itself a “marketplace” for tickets that platforms resold tickets. According to StubHub’s website<\/a>, tickets often have the original buyer’s name \u2014 and if the seller has listed invalid tickets, StubHub says they step\u00a0in to obtain\u00a0the tickets or offer a refund or exchange.<\/p>\n
