NORMAN, Okla. \u2014 The No. 4 seeded Georgia women’s tennis team (17-4, 12-3 SEC) is set to open postseason play at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Tournament with a quarterfinal match against No. 5 Texas (17-6, 11-4 SEC) on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. ET at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

\n\tGeorgia enters the SEC Tournament as the No. 4 seed after finishing second in the regular season. No. 1 seed Oklahoma, No. 2 seed Texas A&M and No. 3 seed Auburn shared the regular-season title in a three-way tie.
\n\tGeorgia will begin its quest for a fourth consecutive SEC Tournament title and its fifth in the last six seasons. The Bulldogs won the title in 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, as well as in 2024 as hosts, and again in 2025 in Auburn, Alabama.
\n\tAgainst Texas, Georgia leads the all-time series 14-6 but has lost the last two meetings, including a 4-1 decision in March.
\n\tGeorgia features six players in the latest ITA singles rankings: No. 8 Aysegul Mert<\/a>, No. 20 Anastasiia Lopata<\/a>, No. 54 Anastasiia Gureva<\/a>, No. 68 Deniz Dilek<\/a>, No. 86 Sofia Rojas<\/a> and No. 96 Emma Dong<\/a>.
\n\tIn addition, Georgia has four ranked doubles teams: No. 3 Dilek and Mert, No. 10 Lopata and Patricija Paukstyte<\/a>, No. 51 Mert and Gureca, and No. 81 while Dilek and Dong.
\n\tTexas has three players ranked in the latest singles rankings: Carmen Herea at No. 3, Anastasia Abbagnato at No. 6, and Eszter Meri at No. 50.
\n\tThe Longhorns also feature three ranked doubles pairs: Salma Drugdova and Abbagnato at No. 28, Abbagnato and Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo at No. 49, and Elizabeth Ionescu and Christasha McNeil at No. 50.
