The overview <\/p>\n

Round Rock Public Works Director Michael Thane said in an April 9 council meeting that the city’s 2023 Water Master Plan<\/a> identified this area as having low water pressure due to its landscape.<\/p>\n

Water pressure is expected to decrease during peak use, as development in the area continues, he said. This project will correct that loss of pressure.<\/p>\n

Council approved a supplement to an original contract approved with Carollo Engineers, as the plan to improve pressure in the area has been changed.<\/p>\n

The details <\/p>\n

Thane presented an update that would have Carollo add a supplemental interconnection to the existing water line in the area to manage pressure, rather than relocating it into a higher pressure plane, city documents show. This is a less invasive option, documents state<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The scope of the project includes about 2,700 linear feet of ductile iron waterline and a pressure reducing valve. Connections will be made near the intersection of CR 172 and Hester’s Crossing Road, and north of West Louis Henna Boulevard near Frontera Drive.<\/p>\n

Cost to the city<\/p>\n
