Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree is demanding ICE immediately release a Portland nursing student.<\/p>\n
She says the teen has been held in Texas for months and given no reason why.<\/p>\n
Pingree says 19-year-old Olivia Andre has been held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Texas since November.<\/p>\n
She and her family are asylum seekers from the Congo and have been living in Portland where Andre was a first-year nursing student.<\/p>\n
Pingree says Andre has been given no explanation for her detention or legal counsel.<\/p>\n
She says Andre told her she’s lost 20 pounds and feels lost and alone.<\/p>\n
